Parched Ancient Coral

Artist: Yuhua Shouzhi Wang

This piece was hand-sculpted and painted in oil colors by Professor Yuhua Shouzhi Wang. Its shape and colors are even more genuine-looking and beautiful than those of real coral from the bottom of the sea or parched islands. When touching this sculpture, it tangibly feels like coral that has been eroded through immersion in water for millions of years. One cannot help but marvel at how such coral texture is created by Prof. Wang. Corals of such kind are difficult to find. Its appeal is further enhanced by the matching hand-sculpted vase called Emerald Green Fine Jade. The set has an air of elegance and refinement, surpassing the beauty of natural coral.

With unparalleled works of art such as this, it is no wonder the artistic accomplishments of Yuhua Shouzhi Wang were recognized as “treasures of the world.” (Please see the United States Congressional Record for details.)

由第三世多杰羌佛文化藝術館主辦的洛杉磯長青畫家藝術作品展，於2019年1月26日在館內隆重開幕。來自多個城市主流社區和華裔社區的老畫家們，將他們一生豐富的經驗與閱歷化做彩筆，勾勒出他們對人類、對世界的期望與理想，也描繪出了長者們眼中五彩繽紛的世界和對生命、大自然的熱情謳歌，展現了長者們精神生活的豐富、多彩。這也是洛杉磯難得一見的不同族裔的長者進行書畫藝術交流的一次活動。

根據第三世多杰羌佛文化藝術館館方介紹，此次畫展參展作品共計60多幅，參展的畫家來自帕沙迪納市老人中心、拉雯市水彩繪畫班、聖安東尼歐山崗學院老年成人學校、帕拉蒙娜斯藝術團隊、金士力社區，亞凱迪亞社區中心，和核桃市松柏藝術協會等城市的老人中心和藝術機構。中國國際書畫家理事伍華女士的作品也參加了此次盛會。

館方說，洛杉磯的畫展很多，但是跨族裔、跨地區為長者舉辦畫展應該不多。無論是專業畫家還是業餘畫家，從展出的這些畫作中可以看出，這些銀髮族的生活非常精彩、富有朝氣。他們把自己不平凡的人生經歷，把他們對人生、對宇宙及對人類世界的期望和理想，通過畫作來表現，展示出他們的精神世界，令人感動和受到啟發，對社會大眾富有教育意義，也有助於不同族裔文化的相互理解、交流和融合。舉辦這次的畫展，也是希望今後能有更多的銀髮族藝術參加這樣的活動。
